SS brake lines

What are the function of these things and how do they work? My car's stopping power has gotten worse since the dealer told me that the rear brake pads were wearing and I replaced them with some generic pads that feel worse than the stock ones.

I'm going to get those EBS green pads all around but someone told me to get SS brake lines as well. What's a good brand and how much do they cost.

SS brake lines I believe take a little of the "mush" out of the pedal feel. I think Neuspeed has them and Goodridge has some for around $130 (Summit). Hope this helps.

If you have ABS, you may not feel much difference from the SS lines since the ABS system will absorb excess pressure and allow you to push the pedal to the floor anyway!

I'm not saying they won't help. They will help combat fade especially if you road race. I'm just saying you might not feel much.

I freaked out and thought my brakes were broken the first time I realized I could push the pedal to the floor! It took a test drive in a 2000 GSR with the plastic still on the doors to convince me it was normal.

I've bought Goodrich twice. Once for my disc/drum set up and the second time when I upgraded to rear disc. The lines are good quality and come with new bolts and crush washers. I felt a difference on my car but I don't have ABS. It made the brakes easier to modulate at the limit.
